I stayed at the hostel for one night as I coming into town for leisure purposes. I stayed at a female only dorm because of personal preferences and found It was really nice and clean. My bed included curtains which was nice for added privacy. The bedding was light with one flat pillow, and a thin duvet. It wasn’t premium quality but it was good enough. The room came well equipped with a wall length mirror and large lockers enough to fit a backpack. You have to bring your own locker but that’s standard measure for most hostels. There was also a working radiator in the room, my room was nice and warm. There were a number of bathrooms and toilets available. The staff were friendly, and accommodating. All guests were well behaved and I didn’t experience or see any unusual behaviour or outbursts. The location was great and it was very easy to get into town with bus stops being 4 minutes walking distance from the hostel. Public transport is used a lot in the area with a daily unlimited desire of £4.80. If you want to stay for longer you can get a season ticket, and save more money but this has to be booked online. There is a lot of nice architectural sites close to the hostel including a graffiti art well. It might be a little scary to see in the night time but lovely in the sun. There is also a well equipped kitchen, which was clean, and a large fridge, 2 microwaves including an oven one, toaster machines, plates, cups, bowls and cutlery. I think the only thing that was missing was fire hob and a traditional oven. I was glad to know breakfast was provided in my stay. This included a fruit bowl of apples, oranges, bananas, brown and white bread, and lots of spreads like jam, peanut butter and Nutella. I was a little worried about staying here at first because I read so many bad reviews, but it is not as bad as the reviews are. It’s even better. Overall I would definitely stay here again. I think it’s great accommodation for solo travellers and friends.

This was my 2nd time staying here, but my first time in the dorm rooms. I originally booked the 6 bed female room, but needed a bottom bunk, so they gave me the option to take the last one in the 15 bed dorm. I'm glad I did, because these beds have plug sockets and privacy curtains, which made the bunk blackout even when the lights were on. The beds were comfortable and I slept well with earplugs. The lockers in the room were pretty spacious, and the bathrooms and showers are some of the best I've ever used in a hostel, with good pressure and hot water, even during busy times, and a decent hairdryer. Breakfast and coffee/tea were also a nice touch. The common area is comfy, with lots of seating and plug sockets. The location is also great; close to the bus station, the bullring, and loads of great pubs and shops. The building is being renovated, but massive progress has been made since I was there during summer. The staff are great, and you can tell they take pride in the hostel. It is meticulously cleaned, and everyone is friendly and helpful. This will continue to be my go-to in Birmingham.

Organised and helpful staff. Entrance with code and code cards, heavy, safe doors, CCTVs. Lots of showers and bathrooms. All clean and with air-wicks [you can rent towels]. Comfortable wooden bunk beds with curtains, power sockets, good stairs to climb. A big-enough locker [take your own safety lock or buy a good one at the reception]. Spacious, clean kitchen. Good, refurbished and clean social area. Good house rules that keep the place low noise and orderly (no loud phone calls, media devices w/o headphones, wash and clean your stuff etc.), rules are reinforced thanks to staff and regulars. A mix of different visitors and nationalities – backpackers, regulars, for work or tourism. 15-25min walk to get around, bus stop/station, train station. Safe room to lock your belongings if you need to [free of charge when staying].

Great location 5 minutes walk from the coach station and 10 minutes walk to The Bullring Shopping Mall. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and booked me in straight away and showed me to my dormitory bed, showers, toilets and kitchen. My bed was warm and comfortable with a privacy curtain, locker and electric socket. Breakfast included apples, oranges, bananas, bread/toast with jams, marmalades, peanut butter, Nutella and tea/ coffee. It had a nice lounge area for chilling out with free tea and coffee anytime of day. Kitchen for cooking yourself with a microwave and refrigerator for storing food. Would definitely stay here again and thoroughly enjoyed my 6 nights here.

The booking and checking in process was really easy. The room I was in was located within a few steps of one of the bathrooms, both were really clean and had a fresh smell and feeling to them. The bed I was in was very comfortable and the surrounding curtain of the bunk was excellent for giving yourself some privacy and making it dark. The locker in the room was more than ample in size for the amount of luggage I had.
